Traceability
The traceability of palm oil
All palm oil produced by our companies is fully traceable. We source bunches of fresh fruit from our plantations, from carefully selected suppliers, and from known and documented sources. We do not have small producers.
We buy the fruit directly from agricultural producing companies, without the participation of intermediaries. This mechanism provides us with transparency in our supply chain: the more direct the supply chain, the better.
Due to the way of production of the region the region, there are no small producers and purchases are made through completely independent companies, which form their own production policies. From the year 2020 we have created a fruit purchase protocol with a requirement that our suppliers comply with the rules of no deforestation, no peat plantations and no exploitation established in the Group’s NDPE Policy.
In April 2021, we strengthened our Sustainability Policy, which seeks the production of sustainable palm oil throughout the supply chain. The application and compliance with the policy extends to companies owned by the Group, as well as suppliers and members of the supply chain. As part of the due diligence process, a plan was established to raise awareness and sign the commitment of the policy by the suppliers that is in the process of being implemented.
Due to its liquid nature, palm oil cannot be traced as a solid object, however the methods used comprise the scope of the RSPO chain of custody standard, meeting the highest industry standards.

Palm oil comes from

We know the exact location and land use history of each oil palm plantation that supplies us. Therefore, we know that the plantations they supply us have not expanded into prohibited areas and they have no intention of doing so. Raw materials are supplied to us only from plantations specified in our contracts.
As a forerunner in supply chain transparency, we have released full data on our palm oil supply chain, which includes the following plantations.
Our plantations do not have land reserves pending sowing for new plantations Landbank = 0.00 Ha.
Currently our companies have 100% traceability to the field.
Providers
We develop an approach with our independent fruit suppliers to train them in good agricultural practices and establish specific records and procedures in their work. Through awareness training, we seek that independent producers make responsible use of phytosanitary products.
All of our independent fruit suppliers know the prohibited chemicals, the permitted products, the entities authorized for their distribution, the dosing tables and the records with which they have to support their use.
In addition to the technical details necessary to carry out a successful application, they are trained in the importance of the use of personal protective equipment, essential for the safety of the workers of our independent suppliers.
All the trainings given are accompanied by periodic visits for the supervision of agrochemical warehouses of the suppliers to corroborate good practices and the inexistence of prohibited chemicals in national legislation.
